Have a Nice Dazed 4.20 Mile and Confused 1 Mile
The Have a Nice Dazed 4.20 Mile and Confused 1 Mile is an annual running event held in Alto, New Mexico. Entering its fourth year, the event takes place at Enchanted Vine by Noisy Water Winery. Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 4.20 miles
- 1 mile
The 4.20 mile course is a scenic out-and-back route on Fort Stanton Road, offering views of the Sierra Blanca mountain range. This distance includes age group awards for the top three male and female finishers in categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over. The 1 mile Confused Fun Run-Walk is available for those seeking a shorter distance. A virtual option is also provided for the 4.2 mile distance, allowing participants to submit results remotely.
The event features an after-party at the Enchanted Vine barn. This portion of the day includes a screening of the 1993 film "Dazed and Confused," starting in the evening. The atmosphere is centered around 1970s classic music and a costume contest for participants. On-site amenities include access to a food truck and beverages provided by the winery.
Registration for the running events includes various items such as vintage finisher medals, stickers, and a movie poster. Those who do not wish to run may register specifically for the movie screening. Early packet pickup is typically available the day before the race at Noisy Water Winery in Ruidoso.
