Event Overview
The RRRR Summer Fun Run Series is a multi-week running event in Shreveport, Louisiana, taking place on Thursdays from June to July. It is presented by the Red River Road Runners and is in its 36th consecutive year.
Series Options
Participants can choose between two series options during registration.
- Short Course Series: The distance starts at 1 mile and increases each week, culminating in a 5K finale.
- Long Course Series: Participants run a 5K distance each week, with one week featuring a 3.5-mile run.
The series includes eight runs. Single-run registration is available for the long course option only.
Locations and Schedule
The runs are held at different parks and locations in the Shreveport area each week. The schedule includes Stoner Boat Launch, Ford Park, Walker Place Park, Hamel’s Memorial Park, Querbes Park, Mike Woods Park, A.C. Steere Park, and Betty Virginia Park for the finale.
Additional Information
The registration fee for the full series covers all eight runs. Participants who complete at least five of the eight runs receive a series t-shirt. The event also includes freeze pops and a picnic at the finale.
There is a dedicated youth program called YOUth FIT for ages 7 to 17, which includes Monday sessions and the Thursday fun runs. Paid club members receive a discount, and there is a family rate maximum. Course selection cannot be changed after registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
