RPM 911 5K benefiting The Shepherd Center SHARE Program
The RPM 911 5K is an annual memorial run held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at American Legion Post 140, 3905 Powers Ferry Rd, Atlanta, GA. The event combines a commemorative focus with fundraising for medical and rehabilitation services.
All proceeds support the Shepherd Center, specifically the SHARE Military Initiative for service members with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress, and other donor-funded programs. Examples of supported services include housing for patient families, recreational therapy, and additional patient support programs that the Shepherd Center operates.
Organizers describe the race as a day of patriotic remembrance for those affected by the events of September 11, 2001, and a means to support patients and veterans served by Shepherd Center. The event has been held annually and organizers report more than $1,500,000 raised for SHARE since 2011. The 2025 edition drew over 600 participants.
The race also serves as a memorial for an individual whose military service and life story inspired the event. Background information shared by organizers notes that the commemorated person enlisted after the September 11 attacks, served in the military, received medical treatment related to a cancer diagnosis, and later died. The event is positioned as both remembrance and support for those affected by military injury and illness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
