Event overview
Cure for the BRRR 2026 is scheduled for January 4, 2026 at Wascana Marina in Regina, Saskatchewan. The race is capped at 100 participants; the event listing shows it is full with 99 participants. Registration requires a Marathon Matters membership; the annual membership cost shown is CA$16.03.
Distances and format
- 4 km loop around Wascana Lake (one lap)
- Half-marathon
- Marathon (42.2 km)
- Any distance completed within a six-hour window
The route is the 4 km lake loop. The course will not be marked; a recommended route is provided. Results are self-recorded on a watch; runners must report final distance and time to the race director to receive a medal and post-race goodie bag. Completing at least one lap earns a polar bear medal and cookie. Completing 42.2 km or longer earns an additional swag item.
Logistics and extras
Bibs are distributed on race morning; this is a self-supported event, so participants must bring their own food, gear, and supplies. Donations will be accepted at the race site on the morning of the event. Requested items include warm clothing and winter gear, gently used towels, kitchen and cleaning supplies, small appliances in good condition, reusable drinkware, and new essentials such as women's underwear, diapers size 2+, hygiene products, and single-serve food items. A self-paid, restaurant-based post-race social may be organized later in the evening. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
