Royal Family Superhero Fun Run - Kennewick, WA
The Royal Family Superhero Fun Run offers multiple race options and community activities to support Royal Family Kids (RFK), a ministry that organizes a summer camp for local foster children. The event includes a one-mile fun run, 5K, 10K and a virtual race. Registration fees are directed to RFK Pasco to help pay for children to attend camp.
Event activities are centered at the Columbia Park bandshell near the Playground of Dreams in Columbia Park East. All timed races follow an out and back route running west along the river toward Richland. Aid stations are located at the one-mile, 5K, and 10K turnaround points and provide water and Gatorade.
The site near the start and finish hosts family-oriented features such as food truck vendors, face painting, balloon making, and music. Participants may dress as a favorite superhero and take part in a costume contest. Awards and recognition are given to the top three finishers of each event in each gender, and 10K finishers receive a medal at the finish line.
Royal Family Kids focuses on providing foster children with a week of camp where they can play, make connections with leaders and peers, and experience special moments such as an "everybody's birthday party" with games, cake, and presents.
