Route 66 10K - Edwardsville, IL
The Route 66 10K is a community running event organized by the Metro Milers running club as part of the City of Edwardsville Route 66 Festival. The race takes place at City Park, 101 S Buchanan St, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
The event distance is 10 km. A separate training-and-race option is offered as a different registration tier. A portion of event proceeds is allocated each year to local not-for-profit organizations and to promote physical fitness in the Metro East area. The race has served as the RRCA Championship 10K in eligible years.
In-person participants receive a Scimitar technical shirt and an additional finisher swag item. Age group awards are given to in-person competitors in five-year bins and awards are also presented for Overall and Overall Masters (40+). Timing is by bib tag with the timing chip affixed to the back of the bib. Live results are provided by Final Lap Racing.
Support on course includes hydration stations offering water and Gatorade. Organizers may close registration for capacity limits, and may delay or cancel the event for extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances. Registrations are final and non-refundable. The event rules prohibit pets, baby joggers or strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and other non-official wheeled vehicles.
