Roughhouse Brewing 5K Beer Run
The Roughhouse Brewing 5K Beer Run takes place in San Marcos, Texas. The event is part of the Texas 5k 6-Pack Beer Challenge and benefits the Hay County Women's Center (HCWC). The course is designed as a loop starting and finishing at the brewery.
The route consists of a paved road loop through the rural neighborhood surrounding the brewery facility, specifically utilizing Oakwood Loop and Highway 12 in a clockwise direction. The course is well-marked and supported, and the event is open to both runners and walkers.
Participating athletes receive the following:
- 5 km
- Official race performance fabric T-shirt
- Custom finisher glass
- Four 8-oz. beer tastings for participants aged 21 and over
- Chip timing and online access to race photos
Results are tracked via chip timing with awards presented to the top male and female overall finishers, as well as masters winners aged 40 and up. Age group awards are provided for the top three finishers in categories ranging from 19 and under up to 70 and older. Following the competitive ceremony, random prize drawings are held for participants. Food trucks are available on-site for post-race refreshments, and free parking is provided at the brewery under the guidance of event volunteers.
