About the race
The Rosebud Running Festival is a community running and walking event on the Mornington Peninsula with a range of race distances and a maximum field of 1,000 participants across all events. The event starts and finishes at Rosebud Skate Park, 1455 Point Nepean Road, Rosebud, and the course runs on a combination of road, shared pathways and the Bay Trail along the foreshore.
Available distances include:
• Marathon (maximum 150 entries)
• Half Marathon
• 10 km Run/Walk
• 5 km Run/Walk
• 1 km Kids Race
The course is predominantly flat and passes through Rosebud, McCrae, Capel Sound and Rye. Marathon runners complete two laps; the half marathon and marathon include a turnaround near Rye. Walkers are permitted in the 10 km and 5 km events. Minimum ages apply: Marathon 16+, Half Marathon 14+, 10 km 8+, 5 km no minimum, Kids Race maximum age 10. The 1 km Kids Race is not timed and parents may run alongside younger children at no additional cost.
Facilities and services include public and portable toilets, drinking water taps, multiple aid stations, first aid coverage, directional signage, timing mats at major turnarounds and an integrated timing chip in each bib. Water and sports drink are provided; the 10 km has two drink stations and the 5 km has one. For safety, dogs, bikes, scooters and rollerblades are not permitted on course.
