Event overview
Roon The Toon is a 10K road race held on Sunday 7 June 2026 at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena in Kilmarnock. The course starts and finishes at the arena and is described as fast, flat and attractive. The race serves as the Scottish Athletics West District 10K Road and Wheelchair Race Championship.
Race categories and prizes
The event includes a main 10K race, a Wheelchair / Frame Running 10K, and a separate 10K "Stroller Roll" for competitors pushing buggies or wheelchairs. The Stroller Roll is designated non-competitive and will start at the back of the main field; self-propelled wheelchair users start with the main field. Finishers receive a T-shirt and medal; the goody bag also includes a free ticket for a Kilmarnock FC home game (conditions apply) and an event biscuit. Prize distribution: 1st, 2nd and 3rd and team prizes are based on gun time; category prizes are based on chip time. Team prizes include male and female club teams and special categories for public service, educational establishments, business teams and non-running sports clubs. Team results count the first three finishers by overall position.
Entry and venue
Standard entry fee is £25 with a £3 discount for Scottish Athletics and UKA affiliate members. Entries close on 1 May 2026 or when the initial race limit of 2400 is reached. The event is organised by Kilmarnock Harriers and takes place at Ayrshire Athletics Arena, Queens Drive, Kilmarnock KA1 3XF. A service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies to each sign-up.
