Ron Skilton Memorial Half Marathon & 12k
Organised by Green Events, this memorial race takes place on 24th October 2027 and offers two distance options. The event was added to the Green Events calendar in memory of Ron Skilton following his death from Motor Neurone Disease in 2005.
The half marathon uses a new route introduced in 2025 that is mainly off-road and is approximately 13.25 miles long. The area is mountainous, so the course runs through varied terrain. Since 2024 there has also been a 12k option. Previous participants report the course is well marked and marshalled, and many return in subsequent years.
This is a cupless event; runners are expected to carry their own collapsible water container or reusable bottle for refilling at water stations. The competition is open to people aged over 16 years. Entry fees are £20 for online entries and £25 on the day; online entries close one week before the race and same-day entries are accepted. Race-day registration takes place at the Neuadd Arms.
