Romp & Stomp 5K in Atlanta
The Romp & Stomp is a 5K road race held in Cabbagetown, Atlanta on November 7, 2026. The course runs through historic Cabbagetown and is described as flat and fast. The race serves as the opening event for the Chomp & Stomp Chili Cookoff and Bluegrass Festival.
Entry pricing is published in tiers: an early bird rate of $35, an increase to $40 on September 15, and a further increase to $45 on October 20. There is no race day registration, and the event has sold out for the past 20 years. All registered participants receive a long sleeved T shirt and a chili tasting spoon for the later festival.
Packet pick up is available November 5 and 6 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm at the Cabbagetown Community Center, and on race morning at Milltown Tavern with numbers handed out at the start and shirts available after the race at the Cabbagetown Park finish area.
Teams may enter a Run Club Championship. A team score is the sum of its three fastest runners and the three teams with the lowest combined times place highest. The race awards overall and masters places for male, female, and non binary divisions, plus age group awards with categories from 14 and under up to 65 and over.
Proceeds benefit the Cabbagetown Initiative CDC. Dogs and strollers are permitted in the race but should start behind other runners; dogs are not allowed at the festival that follows. Parking near the start can be limited; parking lots are available on Memorial and the start is on Carroll Street in front of Milltown Tavern.
