Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K - Fort Worth
Gingerbread Lane is a holiday-themed race at Marine Creek Lake hosted by Bigfoot Running Company. The event includes short youth and adult distances, on-site music from a DJ, post-race refreshments including holiday cookies and milk, and a holiday costume contest with prizes.
Distances offered include:
- Kids Dash - 50 m, for children 10 and under, not timed.
- 1 mile - mass start, not chip timed.
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed with age group awards.
- 10K - 6.22 miles, chip timed with overall Bigfoot trophies.
- Virtual run - 6.22 miles option.
- Volunteer then Run - 5K option limited to first 20 participants.
All finishers receive a race shirt and a medal. The 5K and 10K feature 1st overall trophies for male and female finishers, masters recognition pins, and a detailed set of age-group award pins for multiple age brackets. The costume contest awards include two free entries to a future Bigfoot race, a trophy, and a holiday treats bucket.
Volunteer roles include course monitors, water station attendants, finish line helpers, packet pickup, lead bike, mascot, and sweepers. Full race volunteers may receive a race shirt, souvenir medal subject to availability, VIP access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card.
Packet pickup is offered for 1.5 hours before the event. Course surfaces are typically paved trails with possible crushed granite and dirt sections. Shirt sizes are guaranteed if requested at least 10 days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
