Turkey Shuffle - Dallas
The Turkey Shuffle takes place in Dallas, Texas, utilizing the city's parks and greenbelts. The event features courses set along paved trails and paths that showcase the local autumn landscape. Participants can choose from several distances and participation styles:
- 10k Run: A 6.22 miles chip-timed race.
- 5k Run: A 3.11 miles chip-timed race.
- 1 Mile Run: A one-mile event for all experience levels (not chip-timed).
- Volunteer then Run: A 3.11 miles option where participants assist with packet pickup before running.
- Kids Dash: A 50 meter sprint for children aged 10 and under.
- Virtual Run: A 6.22 miles remote participation option.
The event includes a festive atmosphere with music provided by a DJ and a designated race rally tent offering snacks and refreshments. Aid stations are situated along the course to provide water to participants. All finishers across all distances receive a medal and a shirt.
A Thanksgiving-themed costume contest is held during the event, with awards provided for creative attire. For the timed 5k and 10k races, trophies are awarded to the first overall male and female finishers, alongside master's category recognition and standard age group award pins ranging from age 10 and under to 70 and over.
