Carrollton Tails & Trails 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
The Carrollton Tails & Trails event takes place at the Josey Ranch Athletic Complex in Carrollton, Texas. This athletic event utilizes the city's hike and bike trails to support Carrollton Animal Services & Adoption Center. Participants are permitted to run or walk alongside their dogs.
The event features two distinct distance options:
- 5K (Timed)
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk (Untimed)
The 5K race is a timed competition. Awards are issued to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. The 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk is designed as a non-competitive event and does not provide timing or awards.
Registered participants receive a race bag. Those who register for the 5K by the June 1 cutoff are guaranteed a race T-shirt, a race bag, and a timing chip. A post-race celebration follows the event, featuring an awards ceremony and music.
Packet pickup is held at the Rosemeade Recreation Center on the two days preceding the event. Registration is available for individuals or for groups of up to six people, with different rates for residents and non-residents. Members of the community may also support the cause by donating pet food, kitty litter, or cleaning supplies at designated recreation facilities.
