Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - Dallas

The Summer Meltdown Half Marathon event takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The event is located at Audubon Park in Garland, Texas.

The event offers several distance options:

  • Kids Dash (approximately 20 yards)
  • 1 Mile Run
  • 5k Run (3.1 miles)
  • Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles)
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

A Virtual Run option is also available. The Kids Dash is designed for children 10 and under. Youth pricing is offered for the 5k and Quarter Marathon for participants 12 and under. Group registration comes with special discounts.

The course winds through a park setting with trails, rivers, and hills. Aid stations are located along the route. Participants should expect mixed surfaces, including pavement, crushed granite, and occasional dirt paths. The event proceeds in all weather conditions.

All finishers receive a medal and a tee shirt. The 5k, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon events are chip-timed and feature awards. Overall winners receive a Bigfoot trophy, with age-group awards presented in multiple categories. A DJ provides music and announcements, and snacks and refreshments are available after the race.

Volunteer opportunities are available with various roles, including course monitoring and finish line help. A limited "Volunteer then Run" option allows participation in the 5k after helping with pre-race tasks. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event.
