Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - Dallas (August 8, 2026)
The Summer Meltdown Half Marathon takes place in Garland, Texas at Audubon Park (342 W Oates Rd, Garland, TX 75043) on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The event is organized by Bigfoot Running Company and offers in-person and virtual options. Packet pickup is available before the event and a shirt guarantee cutoff is set at 10 days before the race.
Course, events, awards and volunteers
The event uses park and greenbelt trails with mixed surfaces including paved trails, crushed granite and some dirt paths. Aid stations will provide water on the course. Post-race snacks and refreshments are available at a race rally tent. Race swag includes event shirts and finisher medals; medal and shirt designs are provided by the organizer.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash - about a 20 yard dash, for children 10 and under, not timed.
- 1 Mile - not chip timed.
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed.
- Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles, chip timed.
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, chip timed.
- Volunteer then Run - volunteer first, then run the 5K; limited to the first five sign ups and includes a custom chip timed bib.
- Virtual Run
Awards for 5K, Quarter and Half events include overall trophies, masters recognition pins, and age-group pins across listed age categories. Volunteer roles include water station, course monitor, finish line helper, packet pickup, lead bike, mascot and others; volunteers receive race shirt and other listed benefits.
