Summer Meltdown Half Marathon - Dallas

The Summer Meltdown Half Marathon takes place at Audubon Park in Garland, TX. The event is organised by Bigfoot Running Company and uses park and green belt trails with mixed surfaces, including paved trails, crushed granite and occasional dirt paths. Aid stations are placed on course to provide water and support.

Amenities at the finish area include a race rally tent with snacks and refreshments, live awards announcements, a DJ announcing runners, event shirts and finisher medals. Shirt availability is subject to a size guarantee cutoff ten days before the event. Packet pickup is offered shortly before the event.

The event offers multiple race options:

  • Kids Dash, about a 20 yard dash for ages 10 and under, not timed.
  • 1 Mile, untimed and includes a tee shirt and medal.
  • 5K, chip timed, 3.11 miles, age group awards and overall trophies.
  • Quarter Marathon, chip timed, 6.55 miles, Bigfoot trophies for overall winners.
  • Half Marathon, chip timed, 13.1 miles, Bigfoot trophies for overall winners.
  • Volunteer then Run option that combines volunteer duties with a chip timed 5K, limited to five participants.
  • Virtual Run option.

Standard awards for 5K, Quarter and Half include overall trophies, masters recognition pins, and age group pins across multiple categories. Races proceed in all weather conditions and course maps are provided for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
