Trail Running in Las Trampas Wilderness
The Rocky Ridge event takes place in the Las Trampas Wilderness, located along Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon, California. This trail event offers participants the opportunity to run through natural terrain featuring significant elevation changes and expansive views of the surrounding landscape.
The event features three primary distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The Half Marathon serves as the finale for the 2025-2026 Ultra Half Marathon Series, though participation in the series is not required to register for this specific race. This course is characterized by its hills and technical terrain, distinguishing it from flat road races.
The 10K and 5K routes also include hilly sections and provide access to various vistas within the wilderness area. For the half marathon distance, a specific start option is available for hikers who expect to complete the course in more than 3.5 to 4 hours.
The event supports the East Bay Regional Parks Campership Program through optional donations. Remote participation options are also available for both domestic and international runners who wish to complete the distance from their own locations.
