Rocky Gap Off-Road Triathlon, Duathlon, and Relay

The event takes place on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, Maryland (12500 Pleasant Valley Road, 21530). It is the 22nd annual running of the Rocky Gap off-road races. Course details

The triathlon begins with a two-lap swim in a mountain lake described as warm and clear. The duathlon begins with a semi-technical trail run of 2.7 miles.

After the opening segment, all competitors complete two laps of a mountain bike course. The bike course includes twisty lakeside singletrack, wide fire roads, smooth grassy sections, and a few rock gardens. Following the bike laps, racers transition to a final run of 5.5 miles. The post-bike run features rooty trails, smooth open flats, and some ups and downs.
