Wisconsin Lakeside Half Marathon & 5K
The Wisconsin Lakeside Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Madison and Monona, WI, on September 26, 2026. The event was formerly known as the Rockin Brews Marathon. Distances offered include:

Online registration is closed; in-person registration was available at packet pickup on Friday, August 29th for the Marathon, Half Marathon, Half Marathon Walk and 5K Run.
Courses and race details
The Half Marathon course follows paved paths and tree-lined streets along the shores of Lake Monona. The route passes by the Madison skyline and goes under the Frank Lloyd Wright Monona Terrace Convention Center near mile 6. The course notes mention cooler conditions and fall foliage along the route. The 5K follows paved roads through neighborhoods surrounding Winnequah Park. All participants receive an official race shirt and a finisher medal.
Finish Line Festival and amenities
Post-race activities include the annual Monona Chili Cook-Off and a Finish Line Festival with free live music by The Yard Dogs, unlimited craft beers and ciders, and food available for purchase from local vendors. Ian’s Pizza will sell slices, and coffee is provided by Travelin Toms Coffee. The event is produced by Madison Events and sponsored by MyMonona.
