Wisconsin Lakeside Half Marathon & 5K
The Wisconsin Lakeside Half Marathon & 5K is a road running event held in the Madison/Monona area with the primary venue at Winnequah Park. The half marathon follows paved paths and tree-lined streets along the shores of Lake Monona. Much of the half marathon runs under tree cover, offering cooler conditions for a large portion of the course and regular views of the Madison skyline. Trees along the route display fall foliage as the season changes. Aid stations are placed at approximately two mile intervals.
The 5K follows paved roads through neighborhoods around Winnequah Park. A Kid's Half Mile event for children age 5 to 11 stays within Winnequah Park and finishes in front of the event crowd. All participants receive an official race shirt and a finisher medal; youth participants also receive race bibs and treats.
The event concludes with a Finish Line Festival featuring live music, unlimited pours of craft beer and cider, and food available from local vendors.
