Wisconsin Lakeside Half Marathon & 5K
The Wisconsin Lakeside Half Marathon & 5K is held in Monona, WI on September 26, 2026, with Winnequah Park listed as the event location (1012 Nichols Road). Event distances include a full half marathon, a 5K run, and a Kid's half mile race for ages 5 to 11.
The half marathon follows paved paths and tree-lined streets along the shores of Lake Monona, with views of the Madison skyline and fall foliage along much of the route. Around mile 6 the course passes under the Frank Lloyd Wright Monona Terrace Convention Center. Organizers note cooler conditions for approximately 75% of the half marathon and aid stations are placed at roughly two mile intervals. The 5K uses paved neighborhood roads around Winnequah Park. The Kid's half mile stays entirely within Winnequah Park, is led by a lead bike, and finishes in front of spectators.
All participants receive an official race shirt and a finisher medal. The Finish Line Festival includes live music, unlimited pours of craft beer and cider, and food available from local vendors.
