Wisconsin Lakeside Half Marathon & 5K
The Wisconsin Lakeside Half Marathon & 5K takes place on September 26, 2026 in the Madison/Monona area with Winnequah Park listed as the event location (1012 Nichols Road, Monona, WI 53716). The event includes a half marathon, a 5K run, and a Kid’s Half Mile Marathon for ages 5 to 11.
The half marathon follows paved paths and tree-covered streets along the shore of Lake Monona. About 75 percent of the course runs in cooler, tree shaded sections and offers repeated views of the Madison skyline; the route passes under the Frank Lloyd Wright Monona Terrace Convention Center around mile 6. Aid stations are placed at roughly two mile intervals along the half marathon course. The 5K route follows paved roads through neighborhoods around Winnequah Park. The Kid’s Half Mile stays entirely within Winnequah Park.
All participants receive an official race shirt and a finisher medal. The event concludes with a Finish Line Festival that features live music, unlimited pours of craft beer and cider, and food available from local vendors for purchase. Volunteers are needed for the event and the organizers provide $10 per volunteer hour to charitable organizations that supply volunteers.
