Rock the Lough 2026
Rock the Lough is a running event based at the South Lake Leisure Centre in Craigavon, Northern Ireland. The event offers three distance options:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
All races start and finish at the leisure centre. The 5 km and 10 km routes circle the Craigavon Lakes and are off-road within the park boundaries. The half marathon follows the lakes and link roads to Oxford Island, includes trails around the island, and returns via the link roads to finish at the leisure centre. Organisers describe the routes as flat and fast and note that the half marathon includes trail sections.
The 5 km and 10 km routes are open to other park users such as walkers, cyclists, people with prams and dogs; marshals ask for tolerance on the shared paths. A section of public road used by the half marathon will be closed for the duration of the event.
Race services include chip timing provided by MyRunResults, pacers for the half marathon and the 10 km, water stations during the course and at the finish, an event medical team and trained first-aiders including lead and tail bikes for the half marathon, and prize presentations for first, second and third placed men and women in each race. There are portable toilets at the start area, a limited bag-drop area, and no changing or shower facilities at the leisure centre. Parking is provided at nearby Craigavon Civic Centre and Rushmere Shopping Centre with event marshals directing runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
