Rock of Ages Run
The Rock of Ages race series takes place at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, Texas. This sporting event features a variety of distances suitable for different preferences, including options for timed and untimed participation. The routes are accompanied by rock and roll music played at various points along the course.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5k (timed or untimed)
- 10k
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
The Half Marathon distance includes a specific pace requirement. Runners must maintain at least a 20 minute per mile pace. Those unable to keep this pace will be moved from the course by monitors and returned to the finish area. In addition to the physical races, virtual options are available for all three distances, allowing participants to complete their chosen mileage and submit results remotely.
The event includes a post-race gathering featuring pancakes. All participants in the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon receive a shirt and a finisher's medal. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over, as well as for overall, masters, and grand masters categories. A best costume award is also presented for both male and female runners. The event organizers maintain a weather policy that may delay or modify the course to ensure safety.
