Rock Hall Triathlon
The Rock Hall Triathlon festival takes place in Rock Hall, Kent County on Marylands Eastern Shore with events held on June 5 and June 6, 2027. The venue uses Rock Hall Harbor on the Chesapeake Bay for the swim, which follows the harbor perimeter because the center is only 2 to 3 feet deep. A breakwater protects the swim area from wind and waves. All races feature an in water start at the Kent County Public Bulkhead and finish at Rock Hall Landing Marinas A Dock, where athletes climb a ladder and run about 300 meters to transition.
Distances
- Olympic triathlon: 1.5 km swim, 24.5 mile bike, 10 km run
- Sprint triathlon: 750 m swim, 15 mile bike, 5 km run
The bike courses are mostly flat and well paved through rural cropland; the Olympic route includes a small hill on Earl Nicholson Road. Wind can affect choice of equipment. Run courses are described as pancake flat and run through local neighborhoods with aid stations roughly every mile. The event offers an Aquabike option and relay categories.
Additional event details include a complimentary youth and junior pre race clinic led by certified coaches, USA Triathlon sanctioning, race apparel and finisher medal, non refundable registrations with deferral options, and packet pickup at the race site with photo ID required.
