Rock Hall Triathlon (May 30-31, 2026)
The Rock Hall Triathlon takes place in Rock Hall, Maryland (21096 W. Sharp St., 21661) on May 30-31, 2026. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and serves as the USA Triathlon Maryland State Championships for the Olympic and Sprint distances. State championship qualification follows the stated rules: the top 35% or top five finishers in an age group, whichever is greater, qualify for the Toyota Age Group National Championships.
Events and course
- Olympic: 1.5K swim, 24.5 mile bike, 10K run
- Olympic Aquabike: 1.5K swim, 24.5 mile bike
- Olympic Relay: same distances, one price for a team of 2 or 3 people
- Sprint: 750 meter swim, 15 mile bike, 5K run
- Sprint Aquabike: 750 meter swim, 15 mile bike
- Sprint Relay: same distances, one price for a team of 2 or 3 people
The swim occurs in Rock Hall Harbor on the Chesapeake Bay. The organizer describes the bike course as rural with wide shoulders and paved roads. The run course is described as flat and routed through local neighborhoods. Swim starts use a time trial format with two athletes started every few seconds; an Elite Box Start is available for athletes positioned up front.
Registration, age limits and inclusions
Events are open to athletes age 12 and older. A combined registration for both days offers a 20% discount on the Sunday race when both days are purchased together. Registration includes a finisher medal, a long-sleeved tech shirt, custom race socks, a packet pickup bag, timed results, age group awards, a post-race meal, a finisher certificate, and free finish-line photos.
The event participates in the Kinetic Cup Series qualifier program with rewards for athletes who complete 3, 5, or 10 Kinetic Multisports events. A free youth and junior pre-race clinic is offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
