Rock Hall Triathlon
The Rock Hall Triathlon weekend takes place in Rock Hall, Kent County, Maryland, on May 30 and 31, 2026. Events use Rock Hall Harbor on the Chesapeake Bay for the swim and local roads for the bike and run courses.
The swim occurs inside Rock Hall Harbor, where the bay provides relative shelter from significant wind and chop. The bike courses run on rural roads with wide shoulders and long stretches of smooth pavement. The run course is pancake flat and follows nautically themed neighborhoods and side roads in Rock Hall.
Event formats include individual Olympic and Sprint triathlons, aquabike options, and team relays. Relays consist of two or three members.
Distances:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1.5K swim, 24.5 mile bike, 10K run
- Olympic Aquabike: 1.5K swim, 24.5 mile bike
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 meter swim, 15 mile bike, 5K run
- Sprint Aquabike: 750 meter swim, 15 mile bike
- Relays: same distances as individual races, teams of two or three
The town of Rock Hall is a small historic port on Marylands Eastern Shore. Historical note: George Washington used the Annapolis Ferry to reach Rock Hall nearly ten times before traveling to Philadelphia on horseback.
