Event details
The Rock Hall Triathlon takes place Saturday–Sunday, May 30–31, 2026 in Rock Hall, Maryland (21096 W. Sharp St., 21661). The event is USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned and serves as the USA Triathlon Maryland State Championships for the Olympic and Sprint distances. The Sprint race is also the Maryland State Senior Games Triathlon Championships for athletes 50 and older. State championship placings qualify athletes for Age Group National Championships (top 35% or top five finishers in an age group, whichever is greater). High school athletes who finish a State High School Championship qualify for Sprint Nationals if age 15+ by December 31, 2026. Registration is open to ages 12 and up.

- Rock Hall Olympic: 1.5K swim, 24.5 mile bike, 10K run
- Rock Hall Olympic Aquabike: 1.5K swim, 24.5 mile bike
- Rock Hall Olympic Relay: team (2–3 people) same distances as Olympic
- Rock Hall Sprint: 750 m swim, 15 mile bike, 5K run
- Rock Hall Sprint Aquabike: 750 m swim, 15 mile bike
- Rock Hall Sprint Relay: team (2–3 people) same distances as Sprint
Course, format and included items
The swim is in Rock Hall Harbor on the Chesapeake Bay. The bike course is described as rural with wide shoulders; the run course is flat through local neighborhoods. Swim starts use a time trial format with athletes sent two at a time; an Elite Box Start is available to position top contenders at the front. Registration packages include a finisher medal, event long-sleeved tech shirt, custom race socks, reusable packet bag, timed results, age group awards, post-race meal, finisher certificate, and free finish-line photos.
