Rochester River Run/Walk 5K 2026
The Rochester River Run/Walk 5K takes place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, New York. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation options. The live 5K uses a new 5K loop course along the Genesee River that starts and finishes at the Riverbend shelter in Genesee Valley Park.
This annual fundraiser is sponsored by Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital and the hospital transplant teams. All proceeds benefit transplant patients at Strong Memorial Hospital, assisting with costs such as medications and travel related to lifelong transplant care. The event includes a transplant commemoration and an awards presentation recognizing the top three overall finishers in male, female, and non-binary categories.
Packet pickup is available on race day at the Roundhouse shelter in Genesee Valley Park. Pre-registration at the listed pre-registration rate of $35 is available through April 18; registration increases after that date and day-of registrants are not guaranteed a race shirt. Day-of registration fees are payable by credit card, while cash and checks are accepted for donations and merchandise only. Free parking is provided in the designated University of Rochester Park Lot and participants will be directed to the appropriate campus parking area. The event is open to ages 5 through 99.
