Event Overview
The Roc 6.19/Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk is an annual event in Rochester, New York. The 2026 live race will be its tenth anniversary. The event commemorates Juneteenth, the celebration marking the end of slavery in the United States. Funds raised from the run/walk will support the construction of the Minister Franklin D. Florence Civil Rights Heritage Park in Rochester.
Race Details
The live race is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, June 19, 2026. It starts and finishes at the Riverbend Shelter in Genesee Valley Park, located along the Genesee River. The course is a certified 5K on winding asphalt roads through the park. A virtual 5K option is also available, which participants can complete on their own route anytime between registration and June 19, 2026.
Participation & Registration
There is a live 5K run/walk and a virtual 5K run/walk challenge. Registration is online only, with race-day registration and packet pickup available at the Riverbend Shelter from 11:00 AM. The live race registration fee is $25, or $30 on race day. The virtual 5K registration fee is $10.
Live registrants receive a commemorative keepsake pint mug on race day. All participants and donors will be emailed a special commemorative poster. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in the live 5K.
Event Day
Before and after the run/walk, light food and water will be available. Community vendors selling food and retail items will be on site. Raffle tickets will be sold for gift baskets and prizes. A jazz concert follows the 5K from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Roundhouse Shelter. Free parking is available within walking distance of the start/finish line.
Additional Information
The event supports the cause of equal justice and is dedicated to Ahmaud Arbery. Virtual participants can use a free app to track their run or manually enter results online. Professional RFID timing will be used for the live race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
