Event overview
Roc 6.19/Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk in Rochester, NY is the tenth annual edition held in 2026 to mark Juneteenth. The live event is based at Genesee Valley Park, Riverbend Shelter, along the Genesee River and near the Genesee River Trail. The event includes a post-race celebration with light snacks, community vendors, raffle ticket sales, and a jazz concert at the Roundhouse Shelter.
Race details
The live distance is a certified 5K course (USATF certified course #NY14904KL) that runs on winding asphalt park roads with river and park views. Live registrants receive a commemorative race medal. Special awards will be presented to the first, second and third overall male and female 5K finishers. Free parking is available in the park within walking distance of the start/finish area. Professional timing and finish-line services will use Jaguar Electronic RFID timing, with results available in real time on multiple platforms.
Virtual options and fundraising
Virtual participation is offered with flexible timing and location windows between registration and the event date. Virtual options include completing a 5K or longer challenge formats such as 19 miles or 19K (11.8 miles) under specified time or period limits. Funds raised support construction of the Minister Franklin D. Florence Civil Rights Heritage Park at Baden Park. The event organizers also encourage team fundraising toward a stated goal of $20,000.
