The Robert Van Tassel "Live the Dash" Memorial 5K
This is an annual community 5K run/walk and a separate kids 1 mile event held in Chelsea, New York, in the town of Wappingers. The event takes place on August 9, 2026, and is organized to benefit the Chelsea Fire Company and a scholarship program established in the event's name.
The race course starts and ends at the fire station on Liberty Street and follows streets that run along the Hudson River. The scholarship supported by the event is awarded to two Beacon High School seniors and recognizes sportsmanship, integrity, and full commitment to running goals.
