The Robert Van Tassel “Live the Dash” Memorial 5k sponsored by Chelsea Fire Company
This is an annual community running event held on the streets of Chelsea, New York in the town of Wappingers. The event includes a main 5K run and walk plus a separate kids 1 mile race. It is organized to benefit the Chelsea Fire Company and the Robert VanTassel Live the Dash scholarship.

The Live the Dash scholarship is awarded to two Beacon High School seniors who demonstrate sportsmanship, integrity, and full commitment to their running goals. The race name was changed in 2023 to honor a long time race coordinator and local fire district official; the event continues in that spirit of remembrance.
The course starts and ends at the fire station on Liberty Street and follows a route that runs along the Hudson River.
