Live the Dash Memorial 5K - Chelsea, NY
This annual event is a memorial 5K run and walk held on the streets of Chelsea in the town of Wappingers, with a kids 1 mile race and a virtual participation option. The course starts and ends at the Chelsea Fire Company station on Liberty Street and follows sections along the Hudson River.
Proceeds support the Chelsea Fire Company and a scholarship awarded to two Beacon High School seniors. The scholarship recognizes sportsmanship, integrity, and full commitment to personal running goals.
The event was renamed in 2023 to honor a long-time race coordinator and local fire department leader who died in 2022. The organizer offers both in-person and virtual participation; the virtual option includes a commemorative T-shirt and a finisher medal that are shipped to registrants.
