This annual event takes place at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and includes a 5K that passes through Druid Hill Park and a 1-mile Family Walk that goes through the zoo. A post-event festival and celebration is held at the Waterfowl pavilion. There is free parking at the zoo.

Distances

• 5K: Run through Druid Hill Park.
• 1 Mile: Family Walk through the Maryland Zoo.

Participants receive event shirts. Runners receive a technical short-sleeved shirt, a finisher medal, and a bib. Walkers receive a short-sleeved shirt. Zoo admission tickets are available at a discounted price of $15 for ages 6 and older; children 5 and under receive free admission. Discounted tickets must be picked up at registration the morning of the event and are valid only for the event day. To guarantee requested shirt sizes, registration should be completed by September 1.

Event notes include stroller and equipment rules: strollers are permitted on the 1-mile walk; strollers, skates, and scooters are prohibited on the 5K. Pets are not permitted on zoo grounds. The 5K course includes course marshals, water and energy beverage stops, and medical support teams. The event proceeds in rain or shine, with the right to cancel for extreme weather.
