The event takes place at The Maryland Zoo, 1 Safari Place, Baltimore, MD. It includes a timed 5K course through Druid Hill Park and a 1 mile Family Walk that passes through zoo grounds, followed by a post event celebration at the Waterfowl Pavilion.

Runners receive a short sleeved technical shirt, a finisher medal, and a bib. Walkers receive a short sleeved shirt. Discounted zoo tickets are available for ages six and older at a reduced price; children five and under receive free zoo admission. Discounted tickets must be picked up at registration on the day of the event. To guarantee a requested shirt size, participants should register by September 1.
Course support on the 5K includes course marshals, water and energy beverage stops, and medical support teams. Strollers, skates, and scooters are permitted on the 1 mile Family Walk but are prohibited on the 5K route. Pets are not permitted on zoo grounds. There is free parking at the zoo. The organizer is LifeBridge Health. The event proceeds rain or shine, and organizers reserve the right to cancel for extreme weather.
