Roadtown Turkey Trot
The Roadtown Turkey Trot is a community 5K run and walk held in Shutesbury, Massachusetts on November 21, 2026. The event is organized as a benefit for the Friends of the MN Spear Memorial Library and aims to raise funds for the new Shutesbury Public Library, including a stated goal of $20,000 for outdoor spaces.
The event base and parking are at Shutesbury Elementary School, 23 West Pelham Road. Bib pick-up and day-of registration take place at the school; the start line is about a quarter mile walk from the school. A children's fun run occurs on the track behind the elementary school, with prizes provided by the Eric Carle Museum.
The course begins on Leverett Road and follows a mix of paved and dirt roads through hilly terrain, finishing with a long downhill back at the school. Post-race activities are held in the school gymnasium and include awards, a raffle with 40 prizes, and refreshments such as coffee from Dean's Beans, bagels from Tandem Bagels, and cider donuts from Atkins. Age group winners in the 5K receive a Roadtown Turkey Trot hat and the first walker receives a prize. All 5K participants are entered in the raffle and must be present to win; one raffle prize is a turkey from Diemand Farms.
