RMRR Trophy Series October 5k / 8mi
Rocky Mountain Road Runners holds a monthly Trophy Series race in the Denver area. The October event is at Star K Ranch in Aurora and runs along the mostly wide dirt path beside Sand Creek.
The event offers two distances:
- 8 Miles
- 5K
The 8 mile race uses a handicap start system in which slower runners begin before faster runners. Organizers use each runner's estimated finish time to assign start positions and group runners with similar paces. The 5K begins after the 8 mile field has started.
Both courses are out and back. The route trends slightly uphill on the outbound leg and downhill on the return. Registration for each distance has its own opening and closing dates and carries a registration fee of $10.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
