RMRR October Trophy Series
The RMRR October Trophy Series is a running event organized by the Rocky Mountain Road Runners at Star K Ranch in Aurora, Colorado. The event provides a low-cost racing environment held along the Sand Creek path. The course primarily consists of a wide dirt path and follows an out-and-back route that is slightly uphill on the way out and downhill on the way back.
Participants can choose between two distinct race distances:
- 8 miles
- 5 km
The 8 mile race utilizes a handicap start system where runners are released in intervals from slow to fast over approximately 45 minutes. Start times are assigned based on a runner's estimated finish time, grouping participants with others of similar speeds. This system is designed to give all participants an opportunity to compete for a win. All participants in the 5 km race begin their run approximately 15 minutes after the first starters of the longer distance.
Registration is open to all runners. The event takes place at the Morrison Nature Center area of Star K Ranch, utilizing the natural terrain of the regional trail system. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
