Rivian 5K
The Rivian 5K is an annual community event held in Normal, Illinois. Now in its fourth year, the event takes place on the Heartland Community College campus. Participants can choose between two primary events:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Run/Walk
The race serves as a timed fun run with the purpose of supporting local environmental and community causes. Proceeds benefit the Ecology Action Center, which focuses on sustainability and environmental education in McLean County, and the Friends of the Constitution Trail, a non-profit dedicated to the expansion and beautification of the local trail system.
The event hub is located at the Community Commons Building on Heartland's campus, with parking available adjacent to the building and throughout the surrounding campus area. Participants receive a Rivian commemorative pin and a plant from Reinhart Landscaping. Following the completion of the courses, light refreshments are provided, and attendees can view a display of Rivian vehicles. Local vendors, such as the Reising Flower Truck, are also scheduled to be on-site.
Registration and payment must be completed prior to bib pickup. Pickup sessions are held the day before the race at White Oak Brewery and on the morning of the event at Heartland Community College. The event is sponsored by local organizations including Fleet Feet and White Oak Brewery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
