New Year's Day Fun Run & Walk
The event takes place on January 1, 2026, in Bloomington, Illinois, at Fleet Feet Bloomington, 105 Krispy Kreme Drive #5. The event is free to enter. It is organized as a community fun run and walk where participants may run or walk for distances they choose.
Format and organization
Participants are grouped by pace with defined pace ranges: 8:00–10:00, 10:00–12:00, 12:00–15:00, and 15:00+ minutes per mile. Organizers will photograph each pace group before departure and will ask participants who are not pre-registered to sign a waiver on site. Pre-registered participants do not need to check in. The store will be open before the run for a sale; shoe fittings will not be provided during the event.
Route and distances
The group will follow the store’s usual "W" route, which uses a mix of sidewalks and streets. Distances and suggested turn points are:
- 1 mile: to the stoplight at Hershey and back
- 2 miles: stay on Washington to Evergreen Racquet Club and back
- 3 miles: complete the full "W" route
Participants are asked to be mindful of others when bringing dogs or strollers. Anyone who pre-registers by the stated cutoff and attends is eligible for prize drawings and store gift cards; others may sign the waiver in person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
