RiverSea Ultra : event overview
RiverSea Ultra is an 82 kilometre point-to-point running event from Rakahuri to South New Brighton held on 14 November 2026. The course stays mostly within a few hundred metres of waterways and combines river, lagoon, ocean and stream environments. The tide affects the start time and, depending on conditions, parts of the route may require runners to use dunes instead of the shoreline.
The route features stop banks, single track, hard packed beaches and forest trails. Reported elevation figures are approximately 45 m total ascent and 140 m total descent. Support on course includes six fully stocked aid stations and two designated drop bag zones located at 37.5 km and 61.5 km. Aid station services listed include toilets, food, fluids, drop bags and menstrual products.
Event formats include solo and tag teams with gender categories for female, male and mixed teams. Team leg structures published are:

- 37.5 km leg available in team formats
- 44.5 km leg for two person teams
- 24 km and 20.5 km legs for three person teams
