River's Edge Trail Race
River's Edge Trail Race takes place on May 29, 2027, at the Katy Trailhead in San Gabriel Park, Georgetown, TX. The event uses extensively maintained singletrack that links multiple parks and runs along the banks of the San Gabriel River.
The terrain mixes hard-packed singletrack, shaded dirt roads, and open fields with rolling terrain, short climbs, and short descents. Parts of the course include creek crossings where shoes and bike tires may get wet; some crossings may require bikers to shoulder their bikes.
Course marking is thorough, with arrows, caution tape, and confidence markers; reflective markings are used for low light. The event is cupless; participants should bring a personal cup or bottle. Collapsible cups are available for purchase at packet pickup. Aid stations provide hydration and food spaced such that runners should be prepared to carry enough water for up to five miles between stations. There is no drop bag service beyond the Race Hub area.
Timing is by chip; results show both gun time and chip time, with gun time used for official rankings and awards. Pacers are not allowed. Youth participation includes an untimed Youth 1 mile with a finisher medal. The Georgetown Trails Foundation built and maintains most of the trails used for the event.
