River's Edge Trail Race
River's Edge Trail Race is a multi-discipline event held at the Katy Trailhead in San Gabriel Park, Georgetown, TX on May 29, 2027. The event includes trail running and cross country mountain bike races that use singletrack dirt trails along the San Gabriel River and link multiple parks near downtown Georgetown.
The trail running course is mostly shaded, flowy singletrack with some technical sections, rolling terrain, and short climbs and descents without sustained elevation gain. The event follows a cupless policy; participants must carry a cup or water bottle for aid stations and should be prepared to carry up to five miles of water between stations. Littering can result in disqualification and Leave No Trace practices are enforced. There is no drop bag service beyond the Race Hub area.
Timing is chip based with ankle straps provided at the venue and gun time used for official rankings. Pacers are not allowed. Course markings include tape, arrows, and confidence markers so navigation is not required when following the signs for a chosen distance. Volunteers support many roles such as aid stations, packet pickup, and teardown; volunteers receive gear and other event perks.
