Event overview
The River Runaround 5k is organized by Chattahoochee Main Street and takes place in Chattahoochee, Florida on May 16, 2026. The course starts and finishes near the banks of the Apalachicola River at Chattahoochee River Landing Park, 269 River Landing Road. The route is mostly flat asphalt with some dirt trails and slight elevation in some areas.

Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at the CMS Office, 316 W Washington Street, Chattahoochee, Florida 32324. Plenty of parking is available within walking distance of the registration area. All pre-registered participants in the Fun Run will receive a medal.
Awards are given to the top three overall males and females and to the top three finishers in each age group: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over. A portion of race proceeds will support CMS programs.
Race policies note that no dogs are allowed, strollers are not permitted in the 5k but are allowed in the 1 mile Fun Run, and there are no refunds. In case of cancellation, the Race Director will attempt to reschedule the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
