Event Overview
The River Runaround 5k & 1 Mile Children’s Fun Run is an event held near the Apalachicola River in Chattahoochee, Florida. It is organized by Chattahoochee Main Street. This is the second edition of the event. A portion of the proceeds from the race will be used to support Chattahoochee Main Street programs.
Courses
The event features two distances:
- A 5k run/walk.
- A 1 mile Children's Fun Run.
The 5k route is described as mostly flat asphalt with some dirt trails and slight elevation changes in some areas. The course starts and ends near the banks of the Apalachicola River. Dogs are not permitted in either race. Strollers are not allowed in the 5k but are permissible in the 1 mile fun run.
Awards and Registration
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Age group awards are also given to the top three winners in categories from 9 and under up to 70 and over. All pre-registered participants in the Fun Run will receive a medal. The event has a no-refunds policy.
Venue and Logistics
The race starts at the Chattahoochee River Landing Park at 269 River Landing Road. Plenty of parking is available within walking distance of the registration area. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at the Chattahoochee Main Street office on W Washington Street, and on race morning at the River Landing.
