River Run Geelong : Event details
River Run Geelong is scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 2026, with a start and finish area at Barwon Valley Park, Barabool Rd, Belmont. The event offers the following distances:
- 10 km run
- 5 km run/walk
Field limits apply: the total field is 1,500 participants, with the 10 km and 5 km fields limited separately. All finishers receive a finisher medal. The event supports the charity River's Gift, which focuses on SIDS awareness and research; merchandise and separate fundraising options are available to benefit that charity.
Logistics and services
Course maps and on-course photos are provided by the organiser. There are five drink stations placed on course at about 2 km intervals. First aid personnel will be positioned at the finish and mobile first aid staff will patrol the course by bicycle. A secure baggage holding area will be available on site; participants are advised not to leave valuables. Age categories cover kids (7-12, 5 km only) through 70+, with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals awarded in each age group and trophies for overall winners. Prize results are calculated by gun time.
