River Rat Races 5K and 1K
The River Rat Races take place at Belle Prairie County Park in Little Falls, Minnesota. The event features two distinct distances held along the Mississippi River, set within a park known for its tall red pines and the historic Ox Cart Trail.

The 5 km event is a chip-timed race on a flat, fast loop course. The route consists entirely of pavement, beginning near the river and continuing through the park grounds. Participants using strollers and those choosing to walk are instructed to position themselves toward the back of the starting group.
The 1 km distance is designated as a free fun run. The course for this event follows a small loop on the asphalt within the park. This run is open to all participants.
Belle Prairie County Park provides several amenities for participants and spectators, including a playground, a disc golf course, and a picnic area. While outdoor bathrooms are available on-site, there are no shower facilities. Extensive parking is provided within the park grounds.
