Platte River 5K : Royalton, MN
The Platte River 5K is an annual community run/walk held at Royalton Elementary School in Royalton, Minnesota. The 2026 edition marks the 20th year of the event. The race is sponsored by the Royalton High School Cross Country and Track and Field team and serves as the opening activity for Platte River Day hosted by the Royalton Lions Club.
The event program includes multiple participatory options and youth activities:
- 5K Run/Walk: race starts and finishes at Royalton Elementary School, route along the Platte River.
- K-9 Walk/Run: owners and dogs must start at the back; owners must clean up; each dog receives a finish-line treat.
- Child's Fun 1K: free for kids age 11 and under; each child who completes the 1K receives a prize.
Registration fees are published for each category; the listed amount for the 5K Run/Walk and the K-9 Walk/Run is $28.87, and the Child's Fun Run is free for eligible children.
