River Falls Annual 4th of July Firecracker 5K Fun Run
The River Falls 4th of July Firecracker 5K Fun Run is held on July 4, 2026 in Potomac, Maryland, at 7915 Horseshoe Lane. The event features a single 5K course that follows the neighborhood route used in previous years. The course is described as hilly and somewhat challenging; the route will be covered again on race morning.
Organizers request pre-registration; registration opens 06/02/2026 and closes 07/04/2026. A registration fee of $1.00 applies. Bibs will be provided to simplify finish scoring and organization.
Several competitive and noncompetitive divisions are included. Trophies will be awarded for division winners. Divisions listed include: Kids under 12 years, Young Adults 13-21 years, Adults 22 and older, Stroller Division, Scooter Division, and Best Dressed. Some age divisions will have separate boys and girls winners, resulting in multiple trophies across categories.
The scooter division follows a short route that turns onto Masters Drive, continues onto Buckboard Court around the cul-de-sac, and returns to the start/finish area. Two coolers with ice, water, and Gatorade will be available at the corners of Hackamore and River Falls Drive. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
