The River City Run Presented By Capital Power takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Point Mallard Park, 2901 Point Mallard Dr SE, Decatur, AL 35601. The event has been held for over three decades and names The Committee on Church Cooperation as its charity sponsor. Packet pickup and registration are scheduled the day before the race at two local locations: Fleet Feet Madison and Cross Eyed Owl Brew Pub. Register by March 9, 2026 to guarantee a t-shirt.

The 5K is an out-and-back course and the 10K is a loop. The first 3.5 miles of the 10K run through residential streets. The finish of the 10K and the entire 5K follow the park and golf course perimeter road that runs along the Tennessee River. The Fun Run is a loop of the paved perimeter trail around the Spirit of America Field. Finishers medals are provided for the 10K and 5K; kids receive Fun Run awards. The 10K offers a total of $800 in prize money across male and female categories, plus master and grand master prizes. Age-group awards are given from 0-14 and then in five-year groups to 70+.
