River City Run Presented By Capital Power - Decatur, AL
The River City Run Presented By Capital Power is scheduled for March 28, 2026 at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama. The race start and finish for all events will be at the southwest corner of the Spirit of America Field. The event partners with The Committee on Church Cooperation as its charity sponsor.
The event program includes the following distances:
- 10K
- 5K
- 10K/5K Double
- Kids Fun Run
Finishers receive medals for the 10K and 5K, and awards are given in the Fun Run for children. The 10K male and female prize pool totals $800, with payouts of $125 for 1st, $100 for 2nd, $75 for 3rd, and $50 each for Master and Grand Master categories. 5K awards include 1st overall male and female, Master and Grand Master, plus age-group awards. Age groups run 0-14 then five-year groups to 70+ for both 5K and 10K.
Course details: the 10K and 5K are described as flat; the first 3.5 miles of the 10K run through residential streets. The 5K is an out-and-back and the 10K is a loop. The finish of the 10K and the entirety of the 5K follow the park and golf course perimeter road along the Tennessee River. The kids Fun Run loops the paved perimeter trail around Spirit of America Field.
Packet pickup and registration occur the day before at local locations in Madison and Decatur. Registration by March 9, 2026 guarantees a t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
