MarMac River City Run
The MarMac River City Run takes place on March 28, 2026 in Decatur, Alabama at Point Mallard Park (2901 Point Mallard Dr SE, Decatur, AL 35601). The event has run for over three decades. Entry prices listed before November 30, 2025 are:
- 10k : $30
- 5k : $25
- 10k/5k Double : $35
- Kids Fun Run : $12
Course and logistics
The start and finish for all races will be at the southwest corner of the Spirit of America Field. The 10K is a loop and the 5K is an out-and-back. The first 3.5 miles of the 10K run through residential streets. The finish of the 10K and the entire 5K use the park and golf course perimeter road along the Tennessee River. The Fun Run follows a paved perimeter trail around the Spirit of America Field. The organizer describes the 10K and 5K courses as flat and fast.
Finishers receive medals for the 10K and 5K and there are awards for the Fun Run. The 10K offers $800 in prize money with specified male and female placements and master categories. Age-group awards run 0-14 then five-year groups to 70+. Packet pickup and registration occur Friday, March 27: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Fleet Feet Madison and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cross Eyed Owl Brew Pub. Race day packet pickup is also available at Point Mallard. Register by March 9, 2025 to guarantee a t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
