River City Roots Run
River City Roots Run is a four mile community run on August 22, 2026 in Missoula, Montana. The event is presented by Run Wild Missoula in partnership with the Missoula Downtown Association and is held in association with the River City Roots Festival. The run takes place in the morning before festival activities later that day.
There are two registration categories listed for the four mile distance. The general River City Roots Run entry lists a registration fee of $28 and includes a tech tee and chip timing; participants age 21 and over in this category receive a Roots Festival drink cup, wristband, and one drink ticket. A separate UM Students Roots Run entry lists a student registration fee of $15, includes a tech tee and chip timing, and does not include a beverage. Run Wild Missoula members receive a $3 discount. Registration opens June 11, 2026 and has category-specific closing dates.
