River City Roots Run
The River City Roots Run takes place on 08/22/2026 in downtown Missoula at 125 E. Main St. The event is organized by Run Wild Missoula in partnership with the Missoula Downtown Association.
This is a 4 mile run held in association with the River City Roots Festival. The event offers a morning run or walk before the festival in the afternoon and evening and is open to participants of all ages and backgrounds.

There are two registration categories. General entry has a registration fee of $28 and includes a tech tee and chip timing; participants 21 and over in this category also receive a Roots Festival drink cup, wristband, and one free drink ticket. Run Wild Missoula members receive a $3 discount. The UM Students category has a registration fee of $15, includes a tech tee and chip timing, and does not include a beverage. Registration opens 06/11/2026; general registration closes 07/09/2026 and the student category remains open through 08/22/2026. A course map is available on Strava and as a PDF.
