River City 5K
The River City 5K is the 39th annual run and walk held on October 17, 2026, in Danville, Virginia. The event base is listed at 215 Main St., Danville, VA 24541. It includes separate 5K running and walking events.
The course is described as flat and fast and combines street sections with a paved park trail. The route is an out-and-back that starts and finishes on MLK Bridge and runs along the paved Riverwalk Trail by the Dan River.
Timing is electronic; the race is chip timed. All awards are given based on gun times. Timing services are provided by Blue Ridge Timing, Lynchburg, Virginia.
Registration details note a closing date of October 4, 2026, with a shirt and size guarantee for entries completed by 6:00pm on that date. There is no day-of-race registration. Standard registration fee is $30 and there is a special price of $10 for participants 19 and under. Some additional shirts will be ordered.
