Ritter Way Challenge 5K

The Ritter Way Challenge 5K is a community sports event held at Mill Pond Kennels in Broussard, Louisiana. This event supports the Jamieson Ritter Foundation, an organization established to fund scholarships, community safety programs, and law enforcement outreach initiatives. Participants can choose between two primary categories:

  • 5K Run (3.1 miles)
  • 5K Walk (3.1 miles)

The course accommodates individual participants as well as those with strollers or dogs. While teams of five or more people may register together, all timing and awards are processed on an individual basis. All participants receive a gift bag containing items such as certificates, cooling towels, koozies, water, and snacks.

The event features several recognition tiers. For the 5K Run, medals are awarded to the first three finishers in various age divisions ranging from under 14 to over 70. Additionally, trophies are presented to the first overall male and female finishers in both the run and walk categories. The first 35 registrants receive a commemorative challenge coin.

On-site amenities include fruit, snacks, and a dedicated area with photo backdrops. Following the race, the venue hosts a dock diving event involving vendors, raffles, and various additional activities for those remaining at the site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
