5th Annual Rising Sun 5K
The 5th Annual Rising Sun 5K takes place at John Prince Park in Lake Worth, Florida. This event is hosted by the Kickstart Foundation, a non-profit organization that utilizes martial arts to support at-risk and underprivileged youth. The foundation focuses on teaching life skills through core principles such as respect, focus, and perseverance.
The name of the event is inspired by the symbol of the rising sun, representing success and new beginnings. To reflect the martial arts theme, the run begins with a karate-style warm-up. At the conclusion of the course, participants have the opportunity to break a physical board as they cross the finish line to symbolize overcoming personal obstacles.
