Event overview

The 4th Annual Rising Sun 5K is scheduled for February 22, 2026 at John Prince Park, 2700 6th Ave S, Lake Worth, FL 33461. The event includes a karate-style warm up and a celebratory board breaking after crossing the finish line. It is a chipped timed 5K with awards for the top three overall male and female finishers and age-group awards. All participants in the main race receive a custom bib, a finisher medal and a Rising Sun t-shirt. A 1 mile run/walk is offered for children and others who prefer a shorter route; those participants receive the same bib, medal and t-shirt and may also take part in board breaking. Funds raised benefit the Kick Start Foundation of Palm Beach, which provides martial arts training and youth support services for at-risk and underprivileged children.

Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled on February 19, February 20 and on the race day at East West Okinawan Karate, 125 Hypoluxo Rd, Lantana, FL 33462. Entry options include in-person and virtual entries. Listed entry prices are USD 35 for adult 5K, USD 25 for youth registration, and USD 35 for the virtual 5K.
