Event Overview
The Rise N Shine 5K Run/Walk returns for its 11th annual edition in Moundsville, West Virginia. This charity event is held at Grand Vue Park, with the start and finish lines located at the Big Red Barn. The 2026 race uses the same course layout as the previous year.
Participants can choose between two main categories:
- 5K Run/Walk (Open to runners and walkers)
- 5K Walk Only (Dedicated walking division)
Registration includes a commemorative t-shirt if completed by the deadline of August 30. While a limited number of extra shirts are ordered, sizes for those registering after this date are not guaranteed. The event features post-race food and various door prizes for attendees.
Awards and Support
Recognition is provided for the top three overall male and female finishers in both the run and walk categories. Additionally, awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in diverse age groups, ranging from 1-7 to 70+.
All proceeds from the event are donated to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Marshall County. These funds support the organization's work in cancer research, education, advocacy, and service to those affected by the disease. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
