CASA SuperHero 5K & 10K
The CASA SuperHero 5K and 10K takes place on April 18, 2026, at JB Chambers Youth Community Park in Wheeling, West Virginia. The event benefits Court Appointed Special Advocates and raises funds for volunteer recruitment, training, and ongoing advocacy for children in foster care. CASA volunteers are trained community members appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of these children.
Race options include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Competitive Walk
- 10K Run
- 10K Competitive Walk
Both courses start and finish at the base of the Wheeling Creek Rail Trail and follow an out and back route on a flat, paved trail. Courses are clearly marked and supported by volunteers. The 10K crosses the Washington Ave. Bridge intersection, which is the only location where runners may encounter traffic.
The event encourages superhero costumes and welcomes families, strollers, and dogs. Registered participants receive a custom SuperHero t shirt in unisex sizes Small to 2XL or may choose a no shirt option for a reduced fee. Additional race items include a finisher medal, race bib with chip timing, and post race refreshments and snacks. Awards recognize top overall finishers, top age group finishers across multiple age brackets, and best costume. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
