RIS 5K - Rolling Hills Estates
The RIS 5K is a running event held at 550 Deep Valley Dr, Rolling Hills Estates, CA. The event offers a single race distance of 5K and is organized with multiple registration categories, including general registration, Ridgecrest teacher and staff, and family members of Ridgecrest teachers and staff. Registration is scheduled from March 9, 2026 to April 26, 2026 with tiered fees noted for each category.
Proceeds from the event are designated to replace classroom lab equipment for RIS, with one hundred percent of proceeds allocated to that purpose. The event also fulfills a P.E. requirement.
Race shirt and bib packet pickup is arranged in advance at Ridgecrest Intermediate School on Friday, April 24, and there is a late packet and t-shirt pickup the morning of the event at Promenade PV. Medals are awarded to the top male and top female finishers in each competitive category. Student competitors are divided by grade level and all other competitors are divided by age group; grade and age brackets include 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade and several age groups for older participants.
