Kiwanis El Segundo PTA Run for Education
The event takes place on April 24, 2027 at El Segundo High School, 640 Main St, El Segundo, CA 90245. It features multiple road races that tour El Segundo neighborhoods and pass local schools, with courses on closed streets and a moderate coastal climate.
Distances offered:
- 10K: moderate-to-challenging hill course following the 5K loop twice.
- 5K: easy-to-moderate hill loop through local neighborhoods.
- 1K Kids Fun Run: two laps around Library Park, for ages 6 to 10.
- 1/2K Kids Fun Run: one lap around Library Park, for ages 2 to 5.
The event is USA Track and Field sanctioned with certified courses (CA21007TEB and CA21021TEB) and is part of the USATF Southern California 2027 Road Running Grand Prix Series. Chip timing is used; mile markers and multiple water stations are provided. A post race finish line expo follows the races.
All participants receive a custom die cast finisher medal and a race t shirt while supplies last. Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K, and medals for top three in listed age categories. Proceeds benefit El Segundo Unified Schools supporting students from pre K through 12th grade. Dogs are not allowed. The event is held rain or shine.
