El Segundo PTA Run for Education
Held on April 24, 2027 at El Segundo High School, this community road race uses certified courses and closed streets to route runners through El Segundo neighborhoods and near the coast. The event features chip timing, mile markers, multiple water stations, and a post race finish line expo.
Distances and youth categories:
- 1/2K Kids Fun Run for ages 2 to 5
- 1K Kids Fun Run for ages 6 to 10
- 5K Run/Walk easy-to-moderate hill loop through local neighborhoods
- 10K Run that follows the 5K loop twice with a slight second-loop modification
The kids runs start near Library Park and are untimed; parents may run with their children without separate registration. Youth 10 and under registered for the 5K receive a free Fun Run entry. All participants receive a custom die cast finisher medal and a race t-shirt while supplies last; registrants also receive a goodie bag.
This is a USA Track and Field sanctioned event with course certifications CA21007TEB and CA21021TEB. Awards include top three overall male and female trophies for the 5K and 10K, age group medals, and team awards. Proceeds benefit El Segundo Unified Schools serving pre K to 12th grade.
