Kiwanis El Segundo PTA Run for Education
The event is a community road race at El Segundo High School, 640 Main St, El Segundo, CA. It includes chip timing, mile markers, multiple water stations, and a large post race finish line expo. Courses are USATF sanctioned with certified measurements.
Racing takes place on closed neighborhood streets. The 5K is an easy-to-moderate hill loop through local neighborhoods. The 10K follows the 5K loop twice with a slight modification on the second loop. Two kids fun runs are offered, with courses that loop around Library Park and age guidelines provided for each distance. Youth 10 and under who are registered for the 5K receive a free fun run entry.
All participants receive a custom race t-shirt while supplies last, a goodie bag, and a custom die cast finisher medal. Awards include top three overall male and female trophies for the 5K and 10K and age-group medals across standard age categories. Team winners receive special medals. The event is held rain or shine and no dogs are allowed. Proceeds benefit El Segundo Unified Schools, supporting students from pre-K through 12th grade.
