R.I.P. the Loop: Community Run and Relay Challenge

R.I.P. the Loop takes place on October 31 at Lloyd Hall on Boathouse Row in Philadelphia. The event offers two options: a Full Loop Challenge that follows the full loop of MLK Drive and an untimed Community Run. The Full Loop Challenge is listed at 8 miles, starts and finishes at Lloyd Hall, and does not use automatic timing; finish-line results are used to determine winners and a photographer at Falls Bridge verifies completion. The Full Loop Challenge awards a $200 first prize in the Mens, Womens, and Non-Binary divisions. Registration for the Full Loop Challenge is listed with no fee.

The Community Run is an untimed group run open to runners at differing paces. Organizers anticipate pace groups around 7:15 to 8:00, 8:00 to 8:45, and 9:00 to 9:45 minutes per mile. Awards and a costume contest are scheduled to take place at Lloyd Hall. The event is sponsored by Cloudline Physical Therapy, which lists five Philadelphia-area locations including Washington Square, University City, Center City, Fairmount, and Bala Cynwyd.
