Ring Out the Old – 5K, 10K, Half Marathon
Ring Out the Old takes place on December 26, 2026 at Woodley Park in Encino, California, near 6076 Woodley Avenue. The event offers road and park running on paths around the lake and through park areas.
Distances
- 5K one loop around the lake
- 10K two loops around the lake with a short extra section
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles completed as park laps plus a 10K loop
Course details note that routes cross grass, pass under a road through a tunnel, and enter the Lake Balboa Park area. Routes are on open paths and will be finalized the week of the race, subject to weather. Multiple water stations are placed along the course. The finish area includes an aid station with water, electrolytes, and snacks. First aid kits are available at each station and crew members have received CPR training. Turns are marked with chalk and runner turn signs.
Practical details include free parking in the lot and additional parking on Woodley Avenue. Registration opens December 28, 2025 and closes December 25, 2026. Entry fees are listed as $29.50 for the 5K, $34.50 for the 10K, and $45.00 for the half marathon. All finishers receive a medal and overall first place medals are awarded to the top male and female in each distance. Bibs should be worn on the front.
