Run Through Woodley Park
The Ring out the Old race takes place in Encino, California, specifically within Woodley Park and the Lake Balboa Park area. The event provides a celebratory environment for participants to conclude the year with a community run. Free parking is available for all attendees in the park lot and along Woodley Avenue.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
The courses consist of loops around the lake and the park. The 5K involves a single loop around the lake, while the 10K consists of two loops. The Half Marathon course requires runners to navigate the park twice followed by a loop of the 10K route. The terrain includes paved paths, sections across the grass, and a tunnel under the road. Because the paths remain open to the public, participants share the space with other park users.
On-course support includes multiple water stations and a finish line aid station providing water, electrolytes, and snacks. Staff members are CPR-trained, and first aid kits are located at each station. For convenience, a gear check is available at the registration tent for personal items. All participants receive a finisher medal, and special awards are provided to the first overall male and female finishers in each category. Timing is tracked via race bibs, and free digital photos are provided to runners after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
