Riley's Rumble Half Marathon 2026
Riley's Rumble is a summer half marathon held at South Germantown Recreational Park – Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, MD. The course features hills and is commonly run in hot, humid summer conditions. A course map is available. Permits require that participants not exceed 15 minutes per mile.
On-course support includes water, Gatorade, and ice every two to three miles and at the start and finish. Popsicles are provided just after the turnaround between mile 8 and 9; volunteers will have flavors ready if runners call them out before the turnaround. Port-o-johns are provided at the start and finish only. Energy gels are no longer provided; participants must carry their own supplements. At the finish there are refreshments such as watermelon and bananas. There are no awards, t-shirts, or finisher medals.
This event is part of a low-key race series and is free for MCRRC members who sign up for a 2026 bib and chip; members should exchange older chips or bring a $5 deposit if needed. Non-members pay the posted registration fees of $37.40 for ages 18 and over and $22 for participants under 18; online registration remains open through race morning and bib and chip pickup occurs on race morning near the start area. Volunteers staff the event and additional volunteers are needed. In dangerous weather conditions the race may be delayed, canceled, or converted to a fun run. There are no refunds.
