Richmond Park Half Marathon : event details
The organiser has reclassified the race on 23 August 2026 as a Half Marathon only following a request from the Royal Parks. Runners originally entered for the Full Marathon may transfer their entry to a future 1m2go marathon, including the Woldingham event on 30 August or marathons in 2027; dates for 2027 will be advised at the start of the new year.
Distances
- Full Marathon: 26.2 miles (42.2 km)
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles (21.1 km)
The course starts at Sheen Gate and largely follows paths and roads within Richmond Park. The route proceeds toward Richmond Gate, joins the Tamsin Trail and returns to Sheen Gate before continuing through areas including Dutchess Wood, White Lodge, Spankers Hill Wood, Robin Hood Gate, Broomfield Hill, Ladderstile Gate, Dark Hill and Kingston Gate. Runners rejoin the Tamsin Trail toward Ham Gate, pass Ham Gate Pond and the corner by the golf club to Petersham Gate, then return along the Tamsin Trail and Horse Trail before using a private road through Lawn Plantation back toward Sheen Gate to complete the lap.
Water and running food are listed at Broomfield Hill and refreshments are available at Ham Gate and at the finish. The event is UK Athletics affiliated via RunBritain. The organiser states there are no refunds; at the race director's discretion an entry may be held for a future event if that event is at least five weeks away. Event photos are available from recent years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
