Richmond Aquathlon 2026
Richmond Aquathlon takes place on Saturday 20 June 2026 at Northallerton Leisure Centre. The event was relocated from Richmond Swimming Pool to Northallerton Leisure Centre because of ongoing structural issues at the Richmond pool. The format is a pool swim followed by a flat run, mostly on grass around the fields alongside the leisure centre. The course profile is flat and the event is not suitable for wheelchairs. Race HQ is Northallerton Leisure Centre, Northallerton DL6 2UZ.
Entry is limited to 200 places. Online entry will close at 10.00am on Thursday 18 June and no entries will be accepted on the day. British Triathlon membership is required to take part; non members must purchase a race pass before event day. A British Triathlon permit has been applied for. There are toilets, changing facilities, showers and water at the venue.
Races follow standard British Triathlon junior swim and run distances, with ages as at 31 December 2025:
- Tristart (age 8): swim 50 m, run 650 m
- Tristar 1 (age 9/10): swim 150 m, run 1300 m
- Tristar 2 (age 11/12): swim 250 m, run 2000 m
- Tristar 3 (age 13/14): swim 400 m, run 3000 m
- Youth and adult (age 15+): swim 500 m, run 4400 m
Junior finishers from Tristart to Tristar 3 receive goody bags or mementos. Prizes are awarded 1st to 3rd in all Tristar groups. Entry fees range from £20 to £25 depending on category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
